18.01 SUGAR CREEK PARK - RULES & USE REGULATIONS

(1) Campers and Visitors shall use campground equipment as intended with
respect and will be held responsible for intentional damage. Unsightly
condition of campsites or common areas by campers is prohibited.

(2) Rates & Payment Provisions: Camping rate is $10 per night (includes electric
when used). Payment is required on first day for expected length of stay.

(3) The Park will be opened on May 1, weather permitting. The Park will be closed on November 1, weather permitting. (amended January 19, 2022)


(4) Hours: Quiet hours are 11PM to 8AM. No audio equipment or portable
generators may be operated during these hours if disturbing to other campers.
The park is closed to visitors from 11PM to 7AM.

(5) Limit of Stay: Campers are permitted to camp for seven (7) consecutive days.
Extended stays must be approved by the Village President or his/her
designee.

(6) Prohibited Acts: The following acts/actions are prohibited in the campgrounds

(a) Littering

(b) Discharge of any firearm, sling shot or other weapon

(c) Use of any fireworks unless authorized and approved by the Village
Board

(d) Cutting of trees, bushes or other foliage

(e) Driving nails into or causing any tree damage

(f) Commercial business prohibited unless authorized and approved by the Village Board

(7) Firewood & Campfires: Firewood must be purchased locally or be certified.
Campfires only permitted in the confined area of a campsite and must be
extinguished before exiting the park. Unattended campfires prohibited.

(8) Vehicles: Operators shall follow posted speed limits. Vehicle parking
prohibited on grassy areas when soft and/or muddy.

(9) Garbage: Garbage must be placed in a sealed plastic bag by campers or
placed in authorized Village containers as noted in the park rules.
Leaving fish remains or dead animal remains is strictly prohibited.

(10) Pets: Pets are permitted in the campgrounds but must be leashed at all times.
Barking dogs, during quiet hours are prohibited. Owners are expected to have
proof of licensing and required vaccinations if requested by Village
employees/officials. Pet waste is offensive and it can also spread disease and
parasites to other pets. Pet owners shall be required to immediately remove and properly dispose of the waste if their pet defecates on park property.

(11) Family Camp Ground provisions: Sugar Creek Park is a Family campground.
Obscene, vulgar or profane behavior or language is prohibited. NO
SMOKING permitted in the park pavilions. Pavilions are available to
campers unless prior reservations have been made and "reserved signs" are
present.

(12) Waste Water and Grey Water: The park contains no dumping station and
dumping from any unit is strictly prohibited. Grey water and waste water
must be contained in all camping units.

18.02 PENALTY PROVISIONS

(1) Person(s) violating any provisions of section 18.01 may be requested to leave the campgrounds by any Village of Ferryville law enforcement officer, Village
Employee, or Village Elected Official with proper identification.

(2) Person(s) may be issued a citation(s) for violation of the provisions of section
18.01 and upon conviction shall be subject to the penalty provisions of section
13.04 of the municipal code.


18.03 RIVER VIEW PARK & OBSERVATION DECK - RULES & USE REGULATIONS

(1) Guests shall use equipment for purposes intended and will be held
responsible for intentional damage.

(2) Prohibited Acts: The following acts/actions are prohibited:

(a) Littering

(b) Discharge of any firearm, slingshot or other weapon

(c) Discharge or use of any fireworks

(d) Throwing/tossing any item/object from the park deck or observation/viewing deck

(3) Garbage: Refuse from use of the park or deck shall be deposited in the
designated container. Leaving garbage/refuse from other uses/sites is
prohibited. Cleaning fish or leaving animal remains is strictly prohibited.

(4) Pets: Pets must be leashed at all times by all guests. Pet waste is offensive and it
can also spread disease and parasites to other pets. Pet owners shall be required to immediately remove and properly dispose of the waste if their pet defecates on park property.

(5) Permitted Uses: The River View Park and observation deck is for guests to
view the railroad and river wildlife areas for leisure activities including picnic
functions. Other functions or use by entertainment persons require prior
approval of the Village Board.


18.04 PENALTY PROVISIONS

(1) Person(s) may be issued a citation(s) for violations of section 18.03 and upon
conviction shall be subject to the penalty provisions of section 13.04 of the
municipal code.


18.05 VILLAGE BOAT LANDING - RULES & USE REGULATIONS

(1) Person(s) may launch watercraft and access the river during winter months in the designated area upon payment of the $5.00 launching fee (*adopted 9/21/2022).

(2) Parking: Vehicles with boat trailers shall be parked in the
designated parking lot and operators shall display on the vehicle
windshield or dash area, the launching payment envelope receipt or
annual permit receipt.

(3) Annual Permits: Persons may purchase an annual boat launch permit,
from designated places, for a fee of $35.00 (*adopted 9/21/2022).

(4) Prohibited Acts: The following acts/actions are prohibited in the Boat
Landing premises:

(a) Littering

(b) Discharge of any firearm, slingshot or other weapon.

(c) Cleaning of fish, leaving fish remains or animal remains is strictly prohibited

(d) Throwing any debris or object, except fishing equipment intended for use in the water, into the waters of the Mississippi River.

(5) Pets: Pets must be leashed at all times by their owners on the premises of
the Village Boat Landing. Pet waste is offensive and it can also spread
disease and parasites to other pets. Pet owners shall be required to
immediately remove and properly dispose of the waste if their pet
defecates on the premises of the boat landing area.

18.06 PENALTY PROVISIONS

(1) Person(s) may be issued citation(s) for violations of section 18.05 and
upon conviction shall be subject to the penalty provisions of section 13.04
of the municipal code.

(2) Vehicles with trailers, parked in the landing area, not displaying a fee
payment receipt are subject to a citation with a forfeiture amount of
$25.00.
