Press Release for July Chautauqua Program in Ferryville

The Ferryville Tourism Council is happy to announce the second in our Summer Series of Chautauqua Programs in Ferryville. On Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at the South Shelter at Sugar Creek Park along Hwy. 35, The Great River Road, Dan Jackson will present a program entitled "Dragonflies and Damselflies" at 6:30 PM. Please note: this program will be outside at the park shelter, NOT in the Ferryville Village Hall.
Dan Jackson is an avid birder, outdoorsman, naturalist, nature photographer, and citizen scientist for dragonflies, damselflies, and birds of Wisconsin. He is a great friend of Ferryville helping us with Fall Migration Day as well as guiding birding hikes on Sugar Creek Bluff. For this presentation, Dan will give us a fun, informative, and interesting program introducing us to the insect order Odonata, which includes dragonflies and damselflies. There are some picnic tables under the shelter, but please feel free to bring a lawn chair and bug spray to keep other insects off of you. Dragonflies and damselflies do not bite.
We hope you will be able to join us as we all learn more about these amazing creatures who zoom around us all summer long. For more information, please check out our Facebook page ferryvillewi, our website, or call Joanne White 608-734-9018.
